This command is found on the Options tab of the ribbon bar, or the Options menu when not using the ribbon bar.
The command updates "remote links" for histograms and results windows if they are set to update On Command (see Edit Remote dialog box). It has no effect on other remote links nor on windows which have no remote connections.
This option is useful for remote connections to database programs. It gives the greatest control over when information will be exchanged between a WinList window and some other application. For example, suppose a results window has a remote DDE link with Microsoft Excel to database results. Setting the link to update On Command will allow you to adjust regions, replay the data, even open a new file, without causing the link to update. Once you have the data on the screen the way you want to database it, selecting Update Remote Links will initiate the update process.
